The Pittsburgh Steelers made a slew of roster moves Monday, including placing offensive tackle Mike Adams on the PUP list to begin the season.
Pittsburgh also placed cornerback Senquez Golson and kicker Garrett Hartley on injured reserve, which means both players will miss the 2015 season.
Tight end Cameron Clear , defensive end Niko Davis and tight end Ray Hamilton were all waived/injured.
The Steelers also released G Miles Dieffenbach , WR Kenzel Doe , WR C.J. Goodwin , RB Braylon Heard , DE Joe Kruger , DT Joe Okafor , OL Collin Rahrig , CB Jordan Sullen , OT Kevin Whimpey and S Ian Wild .
The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Saturday they have placed five players on the Physcially Unable to Perform (PUP) list to coincide with the start of training camp, including Pro Bowl center Maurkice Pouncey and tackle Mike Adams .
Pouncey is out of action with what has been described as a "very minor" sprained right foot, and will miss the first couple of days of camp. Adams, who underwent a back procedure on July 20, will miss about four weeks of action.
The other players on the PUP list are backup quarterback Bruce Gradkowski, cornerback Senquez Golson and linebacker Shawn Lemon.
Indianapolis Colts safety Mike Adams and linebacker D'Qwell Jackson will replace Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas and linebacker Bobby Wagner in the 2015 Pro Bowl.
Neither Thomas nor Wagner can participate in the game as both prepare to take on the Patriots in next week's Super Bowl.
Jackson led Indianapolis with 140 tackles in 2014, including four sacks while Adams totaled 87 tackles and grabbed a team-high five interceptions.
The following players for the Pittsburgh Steelers have been ruled as probable for Saturday's wild-card clash against Baltimore: Offensive tackle Mike Adams (illness), nose tackle Steve McLendon (shoulder), tight end Heath Miller (not injury related), tight end Michael Palmer (groin), quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (not injury related), cornerback Ike Davis and safety Troy Polamalu (knee).
Polamalu has missed the previous two games and four of the last seven due to numerous injuries. His teammates scoffed at the idea that the Steelers are better off without the services of Polamalu, after he was a surprise inactive in Week 17. However, Will Allen could cut into Polamalu's playing time on Saturday, per the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
Pittsburgh is a 3-point home favorite against Baltimore.
Pittsburgh Steelers right tackle Marcus Gilbert , who missed Sunday's win over the Colts with a concussion, is scheduled to practice Wednesday and play Week 9 against the Ravens, reports ESPN.com. Backup Mike Adams played well in Gilbert's absence but will return to the bench, coach Mike Tomlin confirmed.
