    The following players were ruled inactive for the Falcons in Week 17 against Carolina: cornerback Ricardo Allen, safety Charles Godfrey, running back Steven Jackson, defensive end Stansly Maponga, quarterback Sean Renfree, tackle Jonathan Scott and linebacker Tyler Starr. Jackson entered this week as questionable after suffering a quadriceps injury against New Orleans in Week 16. Jacquizz Rodgers and rookie Devonta Freeman will share the load. Jackson could return to action in the postseason, if Atlanta defeat Carolina on Sunday.

    Falcons WR Harry Douglas returns to practice Friday

    Falcons wide receiver Harry Douglas (foot) was a limited participant in practice Friday, the team announced. Douglas was unable to practice Wednesday after catching nine passes for 116 yards in a Week 13 win against the Cardinals but made his return to action Friday. Provided he can continue practicing Saturday, he figures to be active for Monday's Week 14 matchup with the Packers. Guard Justin Blalock (back) and defensive end Stansly Maponga (elbow) were both limited Friday for a second straight day. Wide receiver Roddy White (ankle) and cornerback Robert Alford (wrist) remained out of practice Friday.

    Stansly Maponga should be ready for camp

    Falcons rookie defensive end Stansly Maponga, a fifth-round pick from TCU, should be fine for the start of training camp, reports the team's official website. Maponga was hampered in the offseason by a foot injury, but he's expected to be fine. He dealt with foot problems last year at TCU.
