Hemsky announced his retirement from the NHL on Friday, Sean Shapiro of The Athletic reports.

Hemsky, who was drafted by the Oilers with 13th overall pick of the 2001 draft, spent most of his career in Edmonton, racking up 142 goals and 477 points in 652 games over 11 seasons. The 2001 first-round pick will call it quits having amassed 174 goals and 398 assists in 845 games during a 15-year career which also included stops in Ottawa, Dallas and Montreal.
