Mitchell (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Marc Antoine Godin of La Presse (Montreal) reports.
Mitchell will now miss the Habs' next two games, as the 30-year-old forward won't be eligible to return from injured reserve until Friday against New Jersey. Alexander Semin will continue to draw into Montreal's lineup while Mitchell is sidelined.
