Hanzal (upper body) was ruled out for the rest of the season Thursday, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports.
The Coyotes originally thought Hanzal would be able to rejoin the team on their road trip, but it seems that his recovery has not gone as quickly as hoped. Despite missing time with various maladies, the 29-year-old did achieve career highs in assists (28) and points (41) this year. The center can now focus on getting ready for the 2016-17 campaign with Arizona eliminated from the postseason.
