Berube turned aside 40 of 43 shots Tuesday, coming away with his first NHL win by a 5-3 score over the Wild.
It was only his second career start, with the first having come in early October. While Berube has been outstanding in limited AHL work this year -- 4-1 with a .960 save mark and 1.25 GAA in five games -- the 24-year-old has never put up numbers remotely resembling those at any stage of his career. The fact that he drew this start at all comes as a surprise, as the Isles already have two healthy goalies in Jaroslav Halak and Thomas Greiss -- both of whom have been exceptional this year. Expect to see Berube return to the AHL soon and attempt to keep his momentum going.
