O'Dell was waived by the Jets on Wednesday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.The Jets placed O'Dell on injured reserve Tuesday as a temporary measure, before deciding to place him on waivers in an attempt to avoid paying him a contract at the NHL level. O'Dell's bid for a roster spot hit a snag when he suffered an upper-body injury in the final week. He'll report to AHL St. John's once he passes through waivers.
