Pouliot, who will be disciplined internally for his public drunkenness citation, won't face a longer timetable to the NHL according to GM Jim Rutherford, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.

"This is an unfortunate, serious situation that needs to be dealt with internally, but it doesn't affect how we view him," Rutherford said. "Certainly if there's a recurrence or a behavioral pattern, that's a different story. This is the first time he's had any issues." Pouliot missed Wednesday's tilt with what was originally reported as an undisclosed "bruise" before the legal run-in was made public. It remains to be seen how many more games -- if any -- the highly touted defensive prospect sits out.
