Abdelkader left Thursday's game against Florida with a lower body injury and won't return, Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reports.
It's hard to argue the winger has been Detroit's best scorer, considering he only has eight points in 21 games. However, losing a top-six forward, an alternate captain too boot, for a serious amount of time could cause ripple effects on a team that's been offensively inconsistent.
