Eichel was credited with an assist in Wednesday's win over the Canadiens while recording two shots on goal and one hit over 17:12 of ice time.

The second-year center earned his 33rd assist on Rasmus Ristolainen's goal early in the first period, besting his rookie total. Buffalo's second-line center also set a new career high in points (57) with the helper. What makes both accomplishments amazing is that he surpassed those marks in far fewer games -- Eichel's appeared in 59 games this year after playing in 81 last season. Eichel has shown the skills to be a point-per-game player; staying healthy and continuing his development this offseason will be key for the 20-year-old Boston University product.
