Sens' Culek Placed On Waivers

Culek was placed on unconditional waivers Wednesday, likely for the purpose of his release, ESPN.com's Pierre LeBrun reports.Culek, who was drafted by the Senators in the third round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, didn't develop as the organization had hoped. He appeared in just 12 AHL games over the last three seasons, instead spending most of his time in the ECHL. The Czech Republic native is expected to pursue an opportunity in Europe.
