Carter didn't take part in Thursday's practice, but the veteran forward was reportedly just taking a maintenance day, Jon Rosen of LA Kings Insider reports.It remains to be seen if Carter will suit up for the Kings' Oct. 3 preseason finale against the Avalanche, but he isn't currently in any danger of missing the team's Oct. 7 regular season opener against the Sharks.
