The Milwaukee Brewers announced Friday that outfielder Nyjer Morgan and right-handed relief pitcher Kameron Loe have elected free agency over outright assignments to Triple-A.

Morgan, 32, hit .239/.302/.308 with 12 stolen bases in 322 plate appearances in his second season with the Brewers. He has batted over .300 in two of the last four seasons (2009, 2011).

Loe, 31, was 6-5 with a 4.61 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 55 strikeouts in 68 1/3 innings with the Brewers in 2012. He also posted a 3.50 ERA in 72 innings in 2011 and a 2.78 ERA in 58 1/3 innings for the Brewers.
