Brewers reach two-year deal with pitcher Tom Gorzelanny

The Brewers have reached a two-year deal with Tom Gorzelanny. The deal has been agreed to, and is pending a physical.

The Brewers have reached a two-year deal with Tom Gorzelanny, according to CBSSports.com's Jon Heyman. Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel initially reported the agreement.

Gorzelanny fits with the Brewers as either a starter or reliever. He has been used in both roles throughout his career, though he was used primarily as a reliever with the Nationals last season. The Brewers could use a left-handed pitcher in their bullpen after they nontendered Manny Parra. Gorzelanny could also be used as depth in the rotation. The team doesn’t have many established players in the rotation behind Yovani Gallardo. 

Last year, Gorzelanny had a 2.88 ERA and a 3.97 FIP in 72 innings and started once. Over his career, he has been better out of the bullpen, where he has a 3.32 ERA and a 3.76 FIP in 114 innings.
