The Brewers have announced that starting pitcher Chris Narveson has a tear in his left rotator cuff. They've placed him on the disabled list and recalled Mike McClendon.

There's no word yet as to the severity of the tear, but a complete tear would likely mean Narveson's season is over. Even just a partial tear will probably cause him to miss nearly the rest of the season, but we have to wait and see for the official word on his prognosis.

Narveson, 30, is 1-1 with a 7.00 ERA so far this season in just two starts. Last year he was 11-8 with a 4.45 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 126 strikeouts in 161 2/3 innings.

Marco Estrada will take Narveson's spot in the rotation.

Also with the Brewers: Relief pitcher Kameron Loe will be placed on the bereavement list, as his grandfather has died. Wily Peralta is expected to be recalled for that roster spot.
