Cubs SP Tsuyoshi Wada fires seven shutout innings Wednesday

Cubs starter Tsuyoshi Wada was able to sit back and relax in his outing on Wednesday against the Indians. Wada was the benficiary of an offensive explosion by the Cubs, as they went on to win 17-0. Meanwhile, Wada tossed seven innings of shutout ball, allowing four hits and two walks while striking out six.

The seven innings pitched on Wednesday are more than his last two starts combined. It was his longest outing of the season so far.

The nice outing lowered Wada's ERA nearly a whole run, down to 3.68, as he picked up his first win of the year. He'll look to keep it rolling in his next start, scheduled for Monday at home against the Dodgers.
