Cubs SP Tsuyoshi Wada relies on fastball to guide him to first win

Following two poor starts to begin June, Cubs manager Joe Maddon made the suggestion to starting pitcher Tsuyoshi Wada that he should rely on his fastball more, per MLB.com.

Wada heard his manager loud and clear, and took an aggressive approach on the mound Wednesday against the Indians. The result was seven scoreless innings and his first win of the season.

"I was talking to Joe after the last outing and he told me I wasn't aggressive enough," Wada said. "I wasn't using the fastball enough. So today I focused on using the fastball and with our hitters' help, it was a big lead, but I was thinking about it being a 0-0 score."
