Former Los Angeles Dodgers manager and Hall of Famer Tommy Lasorda has spent the past few days in the intensive care unit of a Los Angeles hospital. The reason for Lasorda's stay has not been disclosed.
That news comes via the Orange County Register, which added perspective on Lasorda's recent medical woes:
Lasorda has been hospitalized multiple times in the past year, including after a fall while attending a memorabilia show in Atlantic City last August and then again for 10 days with multiple issues in October.
Lasorda spent 21 years as the Dodgers manager. He owned a career .526 winning percentage, and won four pennants and two World Series. Lasorda also took home two Manager of the Year Awards -- one in 1983, and the other in 1988.
