Update: The Cleveland Indians have officially declined options on Travis Hafner and Roberto Hernandez and picked up Ubaldo Jimenez's club option for 2013.

The Indians are expected to make three decisions on club options in the near future, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reported Friday:

The club is expected to decline the options on both Travis Hafner and Roberto Hernandez (formerly Fausto Carmona). Hafner's contract calls for a $2.75 million buyout on a $13 million option for 2013 and Hernandez's has no buyout on a $9 million option for 2013 and a $12 million option for 2014.

Hafner hit .228/.346/.438 (121 OPS+) for Cleveland in 2012 but struggled again with injuries, playing in just 66 games. As CBSSports.com's Matt Snyder suggested earlier in the season, Hafner still has the bat to help a team at designated hitter and will likely find himself signing somewhere else in the American League.

Hernandez made just three starts in 2012 after spending much of the season on the restricted list for playing under the assumed identity of Fausto Carmona. He finished with a 7.53 ERA in 14.1 innings.

The Indians are also expected to pick up a $5.75 million club option on Ubaldo Jimenez. Jimenez turned in a second straight disappointing year with the Indians, with a 5.40 ERA and major league-high 17 losses in 31 starts. His K/BB declined to a career low 1.51 and he allowed a career-high 25 home runs, but the Indians hope they can rediscover the promise he showed as an ace in Colorado.
