Josh Edgin, Daisuke Matsuzaka get cortisone injections in elbow

Mets pitchers Josh Edgin and Daisuke Matsuzaka received cortisone injections in their ailing elbows Tuesday, the team announced.

Both players will rest for the next few days before returning to the team for a weekend series in Cincinnati, though it is not clear if they are expected to be available to pitch at that point.
