The Mets have signed left-handed reliever Tim Byrdak to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training, the club announced Monday.

Byrdak, 39, threw 30 2/3 innings for the Mets in 2012, recording a 4.40 ERA with 34 strikeouts against 18 walks. Byrdak held lefties to a .154/.260/.277 line but allowed a .386 OBP to right-handed batters, walking nine against just five strikeouts.
