Today, April 1, might be the worst day of the year on the internet. April Fool's jokes are everywhere and so very few are actually funny. Fake breaking news is the worst of the worst.
It's not all bad, though. Athletics southpaw Sean Doolittle had some fun with fans on Tuesday, telling them he shaved his trademark bushy beard:
After the game last night, I decided it was time for a change. New season, new look! Keepin it clean in 2K14! pic.twitter.com/1xHssTSxH8

The beard is part of the Doolittle experience at this point, so shaving it is kind of a big deal. It's like Ron Swanson losing the mustache.
So, naturally, some fans were upset and there was some outrage. You know how this stuff goes. But, a few hours later, the big reveal:
April Fools! I took the previous pic in Jan '13 specifically for this joke! Been setting you guys up this whole time! pic.twitter.com/PvhxWEZvvA

January 2013, huh? That's some serious planning. Either it takes Doolittle forever to grow a beard or he simply forgot about the gag on April Fool's Day 2013.
