The Indians are reportedly set to designate catcher Brett Hayes for assignment, according to The Chronicle-Telegram.
Hayes will be moved in order to make room for Yan Gomes, who is expected to be activated on Sunday from the disabled list. Hayes is hitting .156 with three home runs and six RBI in 32 at-bats this season.
