According to multiple reports, the Blue Jays have acquired veteran reliever Jason Grilli from the Braves.

Grilli, 39, has pitched to a 5.29 ERA and 1.77 K/BB ratio in 17 innings this season. In 2015, though, he was much more effective: 2.94 ERA (129 ERA+) and a 4.50 K/BB ratio in 36 appearances. For his career, Grilli has an ERA+ of 103 to go with 76 saves across parts of 14 big-league seasons. Grilli is under contract for 2016 at a salary of $3.5 million. However, Gideon Turk reports that the Jays will be paying Grilli the minimum, which means Atlanta picks up the balance. Grilli's contract also includes a $3 million team option/$250,000 buyout for 2017.

On the Braves' side of things, Robert Murray of Baseball Essential reports that they'll be receiving right-handed pitching prospect Sean Ratcliffe. Ratcliffe, 21, was originally an 18th-round draftee in 2013. He's pitched to a 4.91 ERA and 1.22 K/BB ratio in 62 1/3 minor-league innings. Last season, he was assigned to the Low-A Northwest League.
