Troy TulowitzkiAs initially feared, Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki has been forced to the disabled list because of the strained left groin he suffered Wednesday night. The move comes just as Tulowitzki, who was hitting .417/.462/.792 over the last week of play, was enjoying his most productive stretch of the season.

Troy Renck of the Denver Post reports that Tulowitzki's immediate plan is to resume baseball activities in four days.

Infielder Chris Nelson will replace Tulowitzki on the active roster, and he, Marco Scutaro and DJ LeMahieu are expected to share time in the middle infield during Tulowitzki's absence.
