Red Sox outfielder Ryan Sweeney may need a stint on the seven-day DL because of post-concussion symptoms, tweets Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe.
According to Cafardo, Sweeney said he felt "weird" while working out before Monday night's win over the Orioles. He wasn't in the lineup, although he's hitting a useful .311/.341/.443 on the season.
Sweeney's uncertain status comes just after Cody Ross was disabled with a broken foot. If Sweeney does require a roster move, then he'll become the seventh Red Sox outfielder on the DL. That, in turn, would likely force Che-Hsuan Lin into regular outfield duty alongside Marlon Byrd and Daniel Nava. In addition to Ross, fellow outfielders -- deep breath -- Carl Crawford, Jacoby Ellsbury, Darnell McDonald, Jason Repko, and Ryan Kalish are all presently on the disabled list for Boston.
