The Minnesota Twins activated relief pitcher Matt Capps from the 15-day disabled list Monday.

Capps hasn't pitched for the Twins since July 16 due to irritation in his rotator cuff and inflammation in his pitching shoulder.

Capps is 1-4 with a 3.81 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 14 saves in 28 1/3 innings this year.

It isn't clear whether Capps will receive save opportunities should they arise, although reliever Glen Perkins has done a fine job as the Twins closer in the absence of Capps.

The Twins have a $6 million option on Capps for the 2013 season.
