There isn't much at stake during this weekend's Padres-Diamondbacks series -- just two bad teams playing out the string. But that didn't stop Diamondbacks right-hander Archie Bradley from busting his rattler to get an out.

Here's the scene. With a runner on third and two outs in a three-run game, Bradley allowed a hard-hit liner versus Yangervis Solarte. The ball clanked off Bradley's glove, however, and caromed toward the third-base side. Rather than give up, Bradley charged the ball, picked it, and made a falling throw toward first base.

Did Bradley get his man? Of course -- otherwise this piece wouldn't have been published.

Take a look:

Bradley hasn't had the kind of season -- or career, for that matter -- many hoped he would, as he entered the evening with an ERA over 5.00 and a strikeout-to-walk rate south of 2.00.

Still, there's something admirable about hustling when the stakes are low, so give Bradley credit for that much.
