The White Sox have signed reliever Matt Lindstrom to a one-year deal, according to CBSSports.com’s Jon Heyman.

Lindstrom’s contract includes a club option for the 2014 season, per Heyman. The financial figures are not known. Lindstrom, who will be 33 in February, had a 2.68 ERA and a 3.16 FIP in 47 innings last year for Baltimore and Arizona. He mainly relies on his fastball and slider.

Lindstrom will solidify an already strong bullpen for the White Sox. The team has Addison Reed, Matt Thornton and Jesse Crain to handle the late innings. A rookie last season, Nate Jones established himself as a strong option, as well. Lindstrom could fill the role of Brett Myers, who signed with Cleveland earlier this offseason.
