The UFC 205 card has quickly gone from a bit disappointing for UFC's triumphant first trip to Madison Square Garden to exceedingly impressive -- all over the course of 24 hours.

After it was announced late Monday night that Conor McGregor would face Eddie Alvarez in the main event, Dana White went on the CBS Sports Radio's "Boomer and Carton" to announce Chris Weidman (13-1-0) vs. Yoel Romero (11-1-0) would also be on the card in an intriguing middleweight bout.

Weidman's inclusion on the card will be a special moment for the New York native, who will get to fight in his home state for the first time. Weidman, the No. 2 middleweight in UFC, will return to the octagon for the first time since suffering the first loss of his career last December to Luke Rockhold.

Romero has yet to lose since coming to UFC in 2013, moving up the middleweight ranks to being ranked No. 4 in the division. This fight figures to be entertaining as both men have won three of their last five fights by way of knockout.

Adding Weidman-Romero beefs up the UFC 205 card to what UFC has wanted since it announced the company would finally get its first promotion in New York City. With McGregor-Alvarez facing off in a lightweight title fight and now Weidman-Romero competing for a chance at a middleweight title fight in the near future, this card has become one of the most anticipated of the year.

With three title fights (including one with the biggest name in the sport), Weidman-Romero, Cowboy-Gastelum and Tate-Pennington, the UFC 205 card can stand up against any card we've seen recently. If everything goes off according to plan -- which has not been the case for most UFC pay-per-views this year -- this should be a massive and highly entertaining event in Madison Square Garden.
