Wanting to make a comeback to the NBA, former All-Star guard Baron Davis played in six games for the Delaware 87ers in D-League last season. In that brief period of time, Davis, 37, showed that he still had some game left as he averaged 12.8 points, 3.5 assists and 1.2 steals in 22.5 minutes. However despite his solid level of production in the D-League, Davis' dream of playing in the NBA again didn't happen as no teams offered him a veteran's minimum deal or even a 10-day contract.

But Davis isn't giving up on making a return. Playing in the Drew League in Los Angeles, Davis is still working on his game and is hoping he can get another shot at the NBA.

From the L.A. Times' Jesse Dougherty:

"Nah, I'm trying to get back to the NBA," Davis, 37, said. "The real thing."

...

He's been working out, playing in some Drew League games and hoping an NBA team will offer him a workout or a training camp invite.

Davis hasn't played in the NBA since suffering a career-ending knee injury in 2012 as a member of the Knicks. The main reason he wants to make a return to the NBA is because of that devastating injury. He doesn't want his last NBA memory being carted off the court.

Getting up there in age, Davis' dream, albeit a very understanding one, will likely not be fulfilled. But even though Davis may not be able to suit up in the NBA ever again, he had an excellent 12-year career that included several monsters dunks, two All-Star appearances and an All-NBA Third team selection. His career is what we will always remember about Davis, not his injuries.
