Jazz shooting guard Patrick Christopher suffered a dislocated kneecap in the first quarter of Friday's game against the Hawks and will not return, the team announced.

Christopher was helped to the locker room by trainers to be evaluated after falling awkwardly early in Friday's game. He played five minutes before the injury, missing his only shot from the field.

The Jazz are already severely shorthanded at shooting guard, leading to Christopher drawing the start Friday. Rookie Dante Exum will likely receive extended playing time in Christopher's absence.
