For the last decade-plus, LeBron James has been compared to Michael Jordan, and the debate surrounding them likely will continue long after James retires. While James continues to pursue Jordan's six championships, he will have the opportunity Thursday night to surpass Jordan in one category: No. 1 on the all-time postseason scoring list.

LeBron enters Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals needing only 28 points to pass Jordan as the all-time leading scorer in NBA postseason history. On Thursday afternoon, LeBron was asked about the milestone, and said chasing Jordan is "a personal goal of mine." Via ESPN:

"It's just a personal goal of mine," James said Thursday before Cavs shootaround in preparation of Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Boston Celtics. "It has nothing to do with passing the rings, passing the points, passing MVPs. It's just my personal goal to keep me motivated -- that's all."

With LeBron averaging 32.2 points per game in the playoffs, there's a very good chance he'll pass Jordan in Game 5.

Tune in Thursday night at 8:30 p.m. ET to see if The King can claim another crown.
