Don't have plans for Saturday night yet? No worries, Kobe Bryant has you covered with the premiere of his Showtime documentary "KOBE BRYANT'S MUSE."
Showtime and Bryant have been teasing the documentary for months and it does not look like your typical sports documentary. As Eric Pincus of the Los Angeles Times reports, the documentary is 100% Kobe.
Safe to say Kobe put the typical Kobe level of work into this very personal film - a passion project - quite compelling, honest, raw

Kobe saw original cut of - decided it was just a standard sports doc - had them throw it out & start over - became something very different

Bryant was the executive producer of the documentary and it truly sounds like a passion project. Which is why it makes sense that the documentary will highlight someone Bryant will forever be compared to. Michael Jordan.
Throughout his rise to stardom, Bryant was compared to Jordan. The early comparisons made sense as Bryant mimicked Jordan's fadeaway jumper and at times would even stick out his tounge while driving to the basket. Since those days, Bryant has established his own take no prisoners identity, that fans everywhere have embraced. While it is clear that they are two totally separate players, since Bryant passed Jordan's all-time scoring mark in December, the debate has been reinvigorated.
Bryant perhaps welcomes this debate because as he explains in his documentary, he would never back down from Jordan. He would challenge him and not be scared because that is exactly what makes Kobe, Kobe.
KOBE BRYANT’S MUSE, an in-depth look into the life, inspirations and challenges facing one of the most successful and complex figures in sports, premieres this Saturday at 9 p.m. ET/PT on SHOWTIME.
