Things typically get a lot more physical in the playoffs, and Sunday night during Game 1 of Rockets-Thunder, Patrick Beverley found that out the hard way.

The Rockets guard is no stranger to physicality, but this time he was on the receiving end, getiting absolutely rocked by a Steven Adams screen midway through the third quarter.

With all of Beverley's mental and physical effort going toward trying to guard Russell Westbrook full court, he wasn't able to pay attention to what was going on around him, and as a result, ran full speed right into a waiting Adams just past halfcourt.

BOOM.

There was no foul called on the play, as the referees deemed Adams' screen legal. And while it wasn't a dirty play by Adams, it was certainly close to being an illegal screen, as Adams slides over at the last second, not giving Beverley much time to change direction.

Per the NBA's rule book, a screener should not "assume a position so near to a moving opponent that he is not given an opportunity to stop and/or change direction before making illegal contact."

Regardless, Beverley was not only able to get up and stay in the game -- I still don't understand how -- but a few minutes later he hit a big 3-pointer, which he topped off a unique flex move.
