Brandan Wright: Released by Rockets
Wright (knee) was released by the Rockets on Friday, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Wright signed with the Rockets after being bought out by the Grizzlies and was immediately hit with a right knee injury. The big man underwent surgery on it and would not have been able to return this season, so he will rehab with the Rockets without officially being on their roster. The team will use the open roster spot to sign Le'Bryan Nash.

Rockets' Brandan Wright: To miss another 2-to-3 weeks
Wright (knee) is expected to miss another 2-to-3 weeks, Adam Wexler of KPRC-TV reports.
Wright will be missing a fifth straight game Wednesday and it appears he'll be in line for handful more absences while continuing to progress in his recovery from a right knee injury. If the 2-to-3 week timetable for a return holds true, Wright's earliest return would come March 22 against the Pistons, though this all depends on how his knee responds to his rehabilitation. Once cleared, Wright will likely play a fairly minor role off the bench in the frontcourt and should struggle to post fantasy worthy numbers.

Wright will miss a fifth straight contest Wednesday as he continues to battle back from a right knee injury. He's only played in one game for the Rockets thus far, producing four points, two boards and one block in 15 minutes against the Nuggets on Feb. 25.

Wright (knee) has been ruled out for Wednesday's matchup with the Clippers, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Wright made his Rockets debut Sunday against the Nuggets, but came away with some knee soreness and was subsequently held out Monday. He's apparently still dealing with some discomfort and has now been ruled out a day in advance of Wednesday's contest, marking his second straight. Clint Capela (illness) is listed as questionable and could be back in the lineup Wednesday. Otherwise, look for Tarik Black and Nene Hilario to handle the center workload.

Wright is listed as out for Monday's game against the Jazz due to right knee soreness.
With Nene (rest) being held out of Sunday's win over the Nuggets, Wright made his Rockets debut, scoring four points and grabbing two rebounds in 15 minutes. Wright made his debut for the Rockets, coming in as the backup to replace the resting Nene. Wright possesses some upside when given minutes but is not in a favorable position in Houston. He is going to be in and out of the rotation for the rest of the season and should be left on the waivers in all leagues.

Wright officially signed with the Rockets earlier this week, but the Rockets aren't quite ready to integrate the big man into their rotation. While he'll be active Wednesday, coach Mike D'Antoni indicated he doesn't expect to play Wright, so he can continue to be avoided until we figure out his role after the All-Star break. Either way, Wright is unlikely to see significant minutes once the Rockets are ready to unleash him.

Wright was bought out by the Grizzlies on Friday and subsequently agreed to join the Rockets, Tim MacMahon of ESPN.com
With the Grizzlies embracing a youth movement, Wright has been out of the rotation since early January. He got his wish to be bought out and join a contender Friday. It remains to be seen what type of role he will have with the Rockets, but he figures to have a hard time cracking the rotation right away.

Wright contributed five points (2-3 FG, 1-4 FT), one rebound and one steal across 14 minutes in Wednesday's 105-101 loss to the Pacers.
After being benched for three of the past four games solely based off the coach's decision, it was encouraging to see Wright receive double-digit minutes. The Grizzlies are ravaged by injuries, and even still, it is hard to see Wright gaining significant value moving forward.

Grizzlies' Brandan Wright: Third DNP-Coach's Decision in last four games
Wright was a healthy scratch during Monday's 120-109 win over the Suns.
Wright, who recently missed five games due to an illness, was removed from the injury report prior to last Monday's bout with the 76ers. However, he has appeared in just one of the four games since, posting four points, four rebounds, and one assist in 12 minutes during last Wednesday's 108-85 loss to the Spurs. Wright isn't bad when he's getting reliable run, but the Grizzlies are likely focusing on funneling playing time to their youngsters given that they are so far out of the playoff picture. As a result, Wright would probably benefit from a trade, though it's unclear how much interest other teams might have in acquiring him.
