  • Nick Young: Taking talents to China

Young agreed to a contract Monday with the Chinese Basketball Association's Zhejiang Lions, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Young will head to China with the hope of using a strong showing overseas as a springboard to return to the NBA, but his time in basketball's top league is most likely over. The 35-year-old hasn't appeared in the NBA since 2018-19, when he saw action in four games with the Nuggets. He didn't suit up domestically or overseas during the 2019-20 campaign.

Already dealing with injuries to Gary Harris (hip), Will Barton (groin), and Isaiah Thomas (hip), the Nuggets went out and signed Young to provide backcourt depth. • Nuggets' Nick Young: Will be available Monday

Young will be available to make his Nuggets debut Monday night against the Grizzlies, Harrison Wind of BSN Denver reports.

There's no guarantee that Young will see the floor, but he officially passed his physical Monday morning and joined his new team at shootaround. Whether Young plays Monday or not, he eventually figures to settle into a bench role to help the Nuggets make up for the loss of Gary Harris, though he's unlikely to be fantasy-relevant in most formats.

  • Nick Young: Arrested, released on bail

Young was arrested in Hollywood late Friday night after being pulled over for a routine traffic violation, ESPN reports. A police department spokesperson stated Young did not obey the officers at the scene, which resulted in the player being arrested for delaying an investigation. Young was released on bail just over three hours later.

Young has a court date set for Sept. 19. It's not immediately clear how the incident will affect the free agent's offseason, but more information should arrive in mid-September. Last season for the Warriors, Young averaged 7.3 points across 17.4 minutes in his age 32 season.
