  • MarShon Brooks: Finds home in China

Brooks officially signed a contract Wednesday with the Guangdong Southern Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association.

Guangdong announced the addition of another American in Michael Beasley to the roster in what marks his third stint and Brooks' second in the CBA. Brooks had averaged 6.6 points and 1.6 rebounds in 13.3 minutes per game across 29 appearances for the Grizzlies this season before being traded to the Bulls in January and waived shortly thereafter.

  • MarShon Brooks: Will be released Monday

The Bulls will waive Brooks on Monday, K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Chicago has an agreement in place to acquire point guard Michael Carter-Williams from the Rockets, so once that trade is confirmed by the league office, Brooks will be cut to open up a spot on the 15-man roster. Carter-Williams will then be released prior to Monday's 5 p.m. EST deadline for all contracts to become guaranteed for 2018-19. It's not surprising that the non-contending Bulls aren't eager to retain either Brooks or Carter-Williams, two low-upside veterans who weren't going to be factors in the team's rebuilding efforts. Once he's cut loose, Brooks will look to find work for another team in need of a bench scorer.

  • Bulls' MarShon Brooks: Likely to be moved

Brooks has not reported to the Bulls and will likely be moved, Mark Strotman of NBC Sports Chicago reports.

Brooks was essentially a throw-in in the deal that sent Justin Holiday to Memphis, and he's yet to report to Chicago as of Saturday morning. Judging from this report, it doesn't sound as though the Bulls expect to keep Brooks around, and the two sides will work toward a resolution. That could mean finding another home for Brooks via trade, or simply waiving him.

  • Bulls' MarShon Brooks: Inactive Friday

Brooks (coach's decision) won't play Friday against the Pacers, J. Michael of The Indianapolis Star reports.

There were rumors following Thursday night's trade that Brooks wouldn't take the court with his new team, although it remains to be seen whether the Bulls will trade him. Wayne Selden, who was also a part of the deal, is inactive as well Friday night.

  • Bulls' MarShon Brooks: Looking for new team

The Bulls intend to trade newly-acquired MarShon Brooks, Sam Amico of AmicoHoops.net reports.

Brooks and Wayne Selden were dealt to Chicago from the Grizzlies on Thursday, and it appears as though Brooks will not even play for his new team. The Bulls are currently seeking a new team for the Providence product.

  • Bulls' MarShon Brooks: Dealt to Chicago

Brooks and Wayne Selden were traded from the Grizzlies to the Bulls on Thursday in exchange for Justin Holiday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Chicago will also receive two second-round picks.

Brooks appears to have been on Memphis' trading block for quite some time, as he was nearly dealt to the Suns in mid-December before the deal fell through. He hasn't seen much playing time with the Grizzlies of late, appearing in just two of his team's previous seven contests. Brooks figures to serve as a role player with his new squad.

  • Grizzlies' MarShon Brooks: Miscommunication kills trade

Brooks will remain on the Grizzlies after a three-team deal that would have sent him to the Suns fell through, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Memphis and Phoenix weren't on the same page in regard to which Brooks was involved in trade (Dillon Brooks or MarShon Brooks), so the deal was subsequently ended. Brooks will stay a part of the Grizzlies as a result.

  • Suns' MarShon Brooks: Shipped to Phoenix

Brooks has been traded from the Grizzlies to the Suns as part of a three-team deal, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Although it was initially reported that Dillon Brooks was on his way to Phoenix, it was later clarified that MarShon Brooks had been traded from Memphis. The deal sends Austin Rivers, Brooks and Wayne Selden to Phoenix, Kelly Oubre to the Grizzlies and Trevor Ariza to the Wizards. Brooks averaged 7.2 points along with 1.7 rebounds over 24 games with Memphis this season and figures to slot in as a role player with the Suns.

  • Grizzlies' MarShon Brooks: Scores 13 points in Wednesday's win

Brooks accumulated 13 points (5-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-6 FT), four rebounds, three assists, and one steal in 18 minutes during Wednesday's 92-83 win over the Trail Blazers.

Brooks matched season highs in rebounding and assists while reaching double figures in scoring for the sixth time this season. Every so often Brooks will be left out of the rotation (appeared in 24 of 27 games), but more often than not the 29-year-old veteran earns double-digit minutes, though he's only able to accomplish so much in such limited action. With Dillon Brooks (knee) expected to return before the end of the month, MarShon Brooks will soon face even stiffer competition for time along the wing.

  • Grizzlies' MarShon Brooks: Scores 10 points in Monday's loss

Brooks had 10 points (4-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two rebounds, one assist, and one block in 23 minutes during Monday's 96-88 loss to the Grizzlies.

Brooks saw a season high minute total and reached double figures for the second straight game. Dillon Brooks (knee) being out for the next six-to-eight weeks gives MarShon Brooks the opportunity to step up and provide depth along the wing. Regardless, Brooks is best reserved for use in deeper leagues that value counting stats.

  • Grizzlies' MarShon Brooks: Surprises with 18 points off the bench

Brooks tallied 18 points (7-9 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds and an assist in 19 minutes during Saturday's 117-96 win over the Suns.

The former first-round pick from Providence showed flashes of production at the end of last season and the preseason, but he's spent most of this tenure in Memphis (his fifth team in four years) playing for their G-League team. He's played sparingly in the bigs for Memphis, as Saturday marked only his 11th appearance in two years. The Grizzlies obviously have nothing to lose after an abysmal 2017-18 season, so they are likely to play a hot hand even if they lack experience. Brooks is way down on the depth chart and is unlikely to be of any consequence from a fantasy perspective.

  • Grizzlies' MarShon Brooks: Perfect from the field in preseason debut

Brooks had 18 points (7-7 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds, one assist and one steal in 16 minutes during Friday's 120-110 preseason victory over the Hawks.

Brooks made his preseason debut Friday after missing the opener due to illness. He had an impactful finish to last season and kicked off again converting on all seven of his field-goal attempts en route to 18 points. His role moving forward is still up in the air, however, should he manage to work his way into at least 20 minutes per night, he could prove to be a nice source of points very late in drafts or off the waiver wire once the season kicks off.
