Knicks' Michael Kidd-Gilchrist: Joins Knicks
Kidd-Gilchrist has agreed to a one-year contract with the Knicks, Bobby Marks of ESPN.com reports.
The Knicks will mark Kidd-Gilchrist's third team since the beginning of last season, as he played 25 total games between the Hornets and the Mavericks in 2019-20, averaging 2.4 points and 2.7 rebounds in 11.2 minutes. Kidd-Gilchrist is a defensive specialist, but even that reputation can't get him consistent time on the floor lately. That doesn't figure to change drastically in New York.

Mavericks' Michael Kidd-Gilchrist: Logs 19 minutes
Kidd-Gilchrist had three points (0-3 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-4 FT) and three rebounds in 19 minutes during Sunday's 135-133 Game 4 overtime win against the Clippers.
Kidd-Gilchrist was one of three Mavericks reserves who saw double-digit minutes. In fact, he earned more minutes in this one than he did in the first three playoff games this series combined (15), as the absence of Kristaps Porzingis (knee) opened up some playing time. Nevertheless, Kidd-Gilchrist is a defensive specialist who typically doesn't contribute much offensively and thus warrants fairly minimal attention for fantasy purposes.

Mavericks' Michael Kidd-Gilchrist: Arrives in Orlando
Kidd-Gilchrist (personal) arrived in Orlando on Saturday and is expected to be available for the Mavericks when the team resumes its season July 31 versus the Rockets, Callie Caplan of The Dallas Morning News reports.
While speaking to the media at practice Monday, Kidd-Gilchrist explained that he didn't accompany the Mavericks' main traveling party to the Walt Disney World complex earlier this month because he was tending to a family matter. With Kidd-Gilchrist back in the fold, the Mavericks have all available members of their 15-man roster in the NBA bubble with the exception of Trey Burke.

Mavericks' Michael Kidd-Gilchrist: Has yet to enter bubble
Kidd-Gilchrist isn't yet in the bubble, Tim MacMahon of ESPN.com reports. According to coach Rick Carlisle, "We're working to get him here logistically and we hope that it happens soon."
It's not clear why Kidd-Gilchrist isn't in the bubble, and it's not clear when he might be available. That said, his role with Dallas has been small, and he's essentially a break-glass-in-case-of-emergency big. The Mavericks' first game is July 31 against the Rockets.
