  • Nick Johnson: Unavailable Monday

Johnson (calf) did not play in Monday's loss to South Bay.

Johnson joined Trevon Duval as the second Herd guard to miss Monday's game, but the likes of Xavier Munford and Robert Johnson filled in admirably, combining for 38 of the team's 115 total points. Johnson has been an immediate starter for the Herd, averaging 36.7 minutes in 14 games with the organization after leaving Austin in February.

  • Nick Johnson: Continues to struggle from deep

Johnson posted 21 points (10-18 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 0-1 FT), nine assists, nine rebounds, two steals and a blocked shot in the 110-108 loss to Raptors 905 on Wednesday.

The Herd have been forced to rely on G League veterans such as Johnson and Shevon Thompson for much of the season, with most of the major players for the Herd currently filling out the bench with the Bucks. Johnson has proven to be a better three-point shooter than what he showed Wednesday, but it's fair to question whether he's taking the appropriate shots given he's averaging just 18.4 percent from deep in his 10 contests with the Herd this campaign.

Johnson played 40 minutes Monday, tallying 10 points (4-16 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 2-4 FT), nine rebounds, four assists one steal and one blocked shot in the loss to Grand Rapids.

Johnson missed Saturday's tilt due to a team suspension, but returned to his customary role in the front court on Monday. The G League veteran is averaging 15.5 points, 6.4 assists and 4.3 rebounds through 26 games in the 2018-19 season, but only 10.5 points in his six contests with the Herd thus far.

  • Nick Johnson: Doesn't make Spurs' final cut

Johnson couldn't do enough to secure an NBA contract. However, the Spurs may invest in his talents by offering him a spot on the organization's G-League team, the Austin Spurs.

  • Spurs' Nick Johnson: Gets camp deal from Spurs

Johnson signed a training-camp contract with the Spurs, Michael De Leon of Project Spurs reports.

Johnson has 28 games of NBA experience, but hasn't been in the league since the 2014-15 campaign. He spent last season in the G-League, where he averaged 11.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. He also earned G-League Finals MVP honors after averaging 17.0 points, 5.0 rebound and 2.9 assists during that series. That strong play earns him a shot with the Spurs, but he'll have a tough time cracking the roster and seems more likely to start the year in the G-League again.

  • Nick Johnson: Retires mid-season hot streak

Johnson added 10 points (4-9 FG, 2-5 3Pt), six rebounds and two assists during Tuesday's 109-105 loss at the Hustle.

Johnson has not come close lately in stringing together a few double-digit scoring nights, like his mid-season hot streak in which he scored above 14 points in eight straight games from Jan. 26 to Feb. 11. Still, the former Sean Miller- coached guard is averaging a fine 11.7 points and 4.1 rebounds per game for Austin this season

  • Nick Johnson: Best all-around game

Johnson accounted for 20 points (8-14 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 10 assists, five rebounds, three steals and two blocks during Thursday's win over Iowa.

The former Arizona guard probably played his best game of the season, finishing with a double-double, a season high in assists and filling every major statistical category. Over his last six games, Johnson is averaging 17.7 points which has greatly increased his season average to 12.0. If he can string together a few more double-doubles, it would add much more value to the 25-year-old's repertoire.

  • Nick Johnson: Waived by Magic

The Magic opted to release Johnson on Saturday, Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reports.

Johnson figured to have a difficult time making the final roster, as the Magic's backcourt was already a bit crowded. Johnson spent 28 games with the Rockets in the 2014-15 season, before spending last season in the D-League. He will likely head back there as he awaits another opportunity.

  • Magic's Nick Johnson: Gets camp invite from Orlando

Johnson signed a training camp contract with the Magic on Wednesday, Brian K. Schmitz of the Orlando Sentinel reports.

After ponying up this offseason to bring in Bismack Biyombo (four years, $72 million) and re-signing Evan Fournier (five years, $85 million), the Magic appear to be in search of bargains to round out the rest of their roster. With at least two roster spots open, Johnson will have a decent chance at breaking camp with the club if he can prove his worth during practices and exhibition play. The former Arizona star spent all of the 2015-16 season in the D-League before shining for the Magic in summer league play, averaging 14.4 points, 7.4 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 2.6 steals in 31.4 minutes per game over his five appearances.

  • Nuggets' Nick Johnson: Waived on Saturday

Johnson was waived by the Nuggets on Saturday, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports reports.

Johnson, the last player remaining on the Nuggets roster from the Ty Lawson trade, was waived in order to make space for Erick Green, who impressed Nuggets' brass throughout the preseason. Johnson could catch on with another team prior to the start of the season, but it seems more than likely he will join the Nuggets' D-League affiliate for the 2015 season.
