Saints QB Drew Brees ties TD mark, WR Marques Colston gets away with pass interference on play

This won't make Packers fans happy. Six days after the The Simultaneous Catch happened to end the Green Bay-Seattle game that gave the Seahawks the last-second victory, the Packers were again victimized by offensive pass interference that wasn't called, this time against the Saints. On the play in question, New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees tied Johnny Unitas' record of 47 consecutive games with a touchdown pass to wide receiver Marques Colston.

Last Monday night, the replacement officials were ridiculed for their ineptness; Sunday at Lambeau Field with the full-time officials back on the job, a Brees touchdown toss to Colston (that clearly included a Colston push-off) prompted Fox color analyst Troy Aikman to proclaim that he could see the penalty from his vantage point in the booth.

It's not surprising that the full-time officials missed what should've been an obvious call (it is Jeff Triplette's crew, after all); it's just that the excitement surrounding their return might've been a tad overblown.

The Brees-Colston connection tied the score late in the first quarter, 7-7. At the end of the first half, the Packers led 21-14.
