Raiders' Nate Allen: Resigns with Raiders
by RotoWire Staff | Special to

Allen re-signed with the Raiders on Thursday.

Allen resigns with the Raiders after being released by the team earlier this week. By releasing and resigning, the Raiders saved $5 million, as they avoided giving the safety the full guarantee of his last deal.

Raiders' Nate Allen: Released by Raiders
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Nate Allen was released by the Oakland Raiders on Tuesday, ESPN's Field Yates reports.

Allen was limited to five games this season after a knee injury kept him out for most of the 205 campaign. As ESPN's Adam Caplan notes, Allen was a cap casualty in this case given that his $4.9 million base salary would have become fully guaranteed on Feb. 10 if he was still on the roster. The 28-year-old Allen has seven interceptions over the course of his six-year career and is now a free agent.

Raiders' Nate Allen: Removed from IR
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Nate Allen (knee) was activated from the injured reserve-designated to return list Saturday, Vic Tafur of the San Fransico Chronicle reports.

Allen, who has been out since Week 1 after injuring his knee, will be activated prior to Sunday's game against the Vikings. While the Oakland Raiders have yet to make an official announcement, it seems likely the team will allow Allen a chance to regain his starting strong safety job from Larry Asante, who has yet to record a turnover since taking over the job.

by Staff |

The Raiders placed safety Nate Allen (knee) on the injured reserve-designated to return list Tuesday.

It was thought that Allen may have suffered a torn ACL in Sunday's loss to the Raiders, but it appears his setback is not as severe as thought, and he will have a chance to return to action later this season.
