  • Josh Johnson: Let go from IR

The Seahawks waived Johnson (undisclosed) with an injury settlement from the team's injured reserve Thursday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports. Johnson was anticipated to miss the entire 2022 season after he was placed on Seattle's IR at the end of August. The 24-year-old running back will now be free to sign elsewhere and hopefully record his first NFL snap, given he can move past his unspecified injury.

  • Seahawks' Josh Johnson: Heads to IR

Johnson (undisclosed) reverted to the Seahawks' injured reserve Wednesday, per the NFL's official transaction log. Johnson went unclaimed after being waived with an undisclosed injury by Seattle on Tuesday, resulting in this subsequent move to IR. The 23-year-old, who did not play a snap over three practice-squad elevations last year, now will be forced to miss the entirety of his second NFL season, barring an injury settlement.

  • Josh Johnson: Waived with injury designation

Seattle waived Johnson (undisclosed) with an injury designation Tuesday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports. Johnson will revert to Seattle's injured reserve list if he goes unclaimed on waivers, which seems likely. He didn't get a chance to make his NFL debut as a rookie last season.

  • Seahawks' Josh Johnson: Still no preseason action

Johnson didn't play in Thursday's 27-11 preseason loss to the Bears. Johnson also didn't play in the preseason opener. There's no hint that he's battling an injury, so it's odd that he's not even getting a look on special teams. Meanwhile, running backs Travis Homer, DeeJay Dallas and Darwin Thompson all handled reps in both preseason contests.

  • Josh Johnson: Back with practice squad

Johnson reverted to the Seahawks' practice squad Wednesday. Johnson was active for the second time this season, and he saw snaps behind Rashaad Penny and DeeJay Dallas. With Alex Collins and Travis Homer set to return from the reserve/COVID-19 list this week, the Seahawks don't have an immediate need for Johnson's presence on the active roster.

  • Seahawks' Josh Johnson: Elevated by Seahawks for Week 15

Johnson was elevated from the Seahawks' practice squad for Tuesday's Week 15 matchup with the Rams, John Boyle of the team's official site reports. The running back will be active for the second time this season, as the Seahawks will likely use him as a depth option behind Rashaad Penny and DeeJay Dallas. With both Alex Collins and Travis Homer on the reserve/COVID-19 list, Johnson could be in line for another activation if they fail to clear protocols before the team's Week 16 game against the Bears.

  • Seahawks' Josh Johnson: Logs 10 touches

Johnson rushed nine times for 30 yards and caught his lone target for seven yards in Saturday's 30-3 preseason loss to the Broncos. Johnson led the backfield in touches, but we shouldn't read into it too much, as they were all in the fourth quarter, while nearly all the starters were on the sidelines. The undrafted rookie out of Louisiana-Monroe has an uphill climb to secure a roster spot.

  • Seahawks' Josh Johnson: Signing made official

Johnson has signed with Seattle, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. This move had been expected for a couple weeks, but it has now been made official. Johnson will try to climb a deep Seahawks running back depth chart but is a long shot to make the roster.
