Nate Burleson back at practice
by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer

Browns receiver Nate Burleson returned to practice Tuesday, reports USA Today.

Burleson is coming back from the arm injury he sustained in May. He is expected to compete for a starting job this season with Josh Gordon expected to be suspended for the season.

Nate Burleson will be ready for training camp
by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer

Browns receiver Nate Burleson said Tuesday he'll get the cast off his surgically repaired left arm this week, reports the Akron Beacon Journal.

Burleson broke his arm prior to the NFL Draft in early May. But he said he'll be full go in training camp, which means he's on target for the start of the season.

Burleson could be a starter for the Browns this year with Josh Gordon facing a year-long suspension.

Browns have plan at wide receiver
by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer

Even though Josh Gordon is facing a possible one-year suspension for failing a drug test and Nate Burleson (arm) is not certain for training camp, the Browns aren't hitting the panic button with their receiver position, reports ESPN.

The Browns have no plans to alter their draft board and select a receiver. So far in the draft, the team has selected cornerback Justin Gilbert, quarterback Johnny Manziel, guard Joel Bitonio, linebacker Christian Kirksey and running back Terrance West through the first three rounds.

They have two more picks Saturday barring a trade in Round 4 and Round 7, but general manager Ray Famrer isn't worried.

"We play games in September," Farmer said. "Right now there's still plenty of opportunities for us to acquire players and to make things happen."

If Gordon is out, the Browns would have Greg Little, Andrew Hawkins and Burleson, assuming he's healthy, as their top receivers heading into the season. Farmer believes he can still address the situation.

"Whether it’s trades, drafting someone the [third] day, players that get cut or we acquire somebody from the street," Farmer said "there's always opportunities to acquire players."

Nate Burleson fractures arm in minicamp
by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer

Friday was a bad day for the Browns and their receiving corps. After finding out that Josh Gordon could be facing a year-long suspension for a failed drug test, it was revealed during the NFL Draft that Nate Burleson fractured his arm during a recent minicamp, reports ESPN.

It is the same arm Burleson injured last year with the Lions. The Browns signed Burleson this offseason to a one-year deal.

Burleson should be considered questionable for training camp. The 12th-year pro recorded just 39 catches for 461 yards and a touchdown last year, but he could be needed by the Browns if Gordon is out for the season.

Johnny Manziel becomes a Fantasy sleeper as a Brown
by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer

One of the reasons Johnny Manziel was such a spectacular player in college was because he was able to extend a play and throw to a big receiver down the field. Landing with the Browns is a total win for Johnny Football because he'll have Josh Gordon, Jordan Cameron, Greg Little and Nate Burleson as down-field targets along with Andrew Hawkins as a quick, short-area weapon. Ben Tate rumbling in the backfield doesn't hurt either.

Another impressive factor is the Browns O-line, which has two studs in left tackle Joe Thomas and center Alex Mack. If the line can improve from last season (we're looking at you, Mitchell Schwartz), then Manziel will have time to make good throws.

Of all the places he could have gone in the draft, Cleveland's the best fit. Not only should he inject life into the franchise but he should end up starting in Week 1 against the Steelers. Expect Manziel to get taken late in every single seasonal draft as a combo backup Fantasy QB/sleeper who could get some serious trade value. He'll get picked in the middle rounds in dynasty/keeper leagues and should be considered a Top 5 choice in rookie-only drafts.
