| Meriweather fined again by NFL: Bears DB Brandon Meriweather may lose more than his starting job. The league fined him $25,000 for a helmet-to-helmet hit in the game versus Detroit Monday. He was fined $20,000 the previous week. Meriweather can appeal the fines. In addition, NBC Sports reported Meriweather has angered league officials with his careless, violent play. On Thursday, Chicago announced that Meriweather will not start in Week 6 against the Vikings. (Updated 10/14/2011) |

| Meriweather has recorded just 19 tackles through the first five games and will now have to fight to regain his starting job. The Bears have used 13 different starting free safeties and 12 different starting strong safeties. Chicago's defense has not looked as good as it has in years past but they will be facing a lesser offense in Week 6 when the Vikings come to town. The Bears held Minnesota to 27 total points in two meetings a year ago so continue to view their DST as a low-end No. 1/high-end No. 2 Fantasy option. Ignore Meriweather in the majority of IDP formats until he picks up his play. (Updated 10/14/2011). |
