Brandon Meriweather 'seemed to lose some of his aggression'
by Larry Hartstein |

Free agent safety Brandon Meriweather wasn't the same player for the Redskins after he was suspended for illegal hits, reports the Washington Post. Meriweather "seemed to lose some of his aggression" following the one-game suspension and "seemed to struggle to find a balance between playing with aggression while also avoiding putting himself and other players at risk," the report said.

The paper suggests Washington can find better options at safety than Meriweather, who had 69 tackles, two interceptions, a sack, a forced fumble and three pass deflections last season.

Three Redskins' contracts voided
by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer

Three members of the 2013 Redskins -- Josh Morgan, Brandon Meriweather and London Fletcher -- all had their contracts voided Friday, according to USA Today. The move will save the Redskins some cap space.

Morgan had fallen out of favor in Washington and suffered with some of his worst numbers -- just 214 yards and no touchdowns despite playing 14 games.

Meriweather had a tumultuous tenure with the Redskins, tallying 76 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble and three interceptions over 14 games (two seasons; he hurt his knees in 2012).

Fletcher, on the other hand, is a candidate for the Hall of Fame after closing out a 16-year career without missing a single game. He is retiring.
