Monday night proved to be an ugly one for the Philadelphia Flyers. Not only were they on the losing end of a 6-1 blowout to the Presidents' Trophy winning Washington Capitals, but the third period featured a complete meltdown from the Flyers players and fans.

As they took a series of penalties, including an en ejection from Pierre-Edouard Bellemare for a nasty hit from behind on Dmitry Orlov, Flyers fans littered the ice with light up bracelets that were given away before the game. It resulted in them not only earning a penalty for delay of game, but also a public scolding from the arena PA announcer.

For the most part everybody involved seemed to be disappointed with the outcome, including forward Wayne Simmonds who said that even though the fans were upset, "That can't happen."

One player on the team that didn't seem to mind it was Flyers forward Ryan White

"I was in the room there and got told that was going on," White said, via the Courier-Post. "I didn't realize they got warned or whatever. Whatever. I love the Philly fans. I'd be doing it, too."

Well, at least he was honest.

White was given a 10-minute misconduct penalty during the scrum that took place following Bellemare's hit on Orlov.

Earlier in the game White was the player that delivered the hit along the boards that knocked Capitals defenseman Brooks Orpik out of the game.
