GIF: Jonathan Quick robs Derick Brassard with paddle save
Jonathan Quick made one of the most spectacular saves of the postseason on Derick Brassard in the second period of Game 3.
With his team up 2-0, a lead that has been ever so precarious this postseason, Jonathan Quick has been doing his part to make sure the Los Angeles Kings stay ahead in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final. Midway through the second period, he made one of the best saves of his postseason by robbing Derick Brassard to finish off a long sequence of pressure by the New York Rangers.
As the puck came out, Brassard was just a few feet out from the net and Quick was in the process of recovering from a shot from Brad Richards. Brassard caught the puck on his backhand and flung it at the net. With no time to get fully in front of the puck, Quick stuck his goalie paddle out. He got all of it.
Here’s the GIF from @PeteBlackburn:
That’s just an incredible stop from Jonathan Quick. He hasn’t been his best this postseason, but he always seems to make those incredible stops that remind you of how he won a Conn Smythe Trophy in 2012. That athleticism is off the charts.
