The San Jose Sharks tried to get playful on Twitter this week, but the Vegas Golden Knights were having none of it.
Touting 100-degree weather in California, the Sharks showcased their forecast side by side with temperatures from Las Vegas, suggesting that somehow the heat gave them a preseason edge over the NHL's newest team.
It's not even October yet and we're already up on @GoldenKnights. #bayareaheatwave pic.twitter.com/e2AlkDLMV1

But Vegas refused to ignore the jab, replying with a shot at San Jose's inability to finish in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Here's your friendly reminder the Sharks blew a 1-0 series lead and a 3-1 Game 5 advantage against the Edmonton Oilers in April. Back in 2014, they blew a 3-0 series lead to the Los Angeles Kings in the first round.
Because everybody knows how good @SanJoseSharks are at holding leads🙄 https://t.co/O2YGCvhx0R

Vegas 1, San Jose 0. What a start for the Golden Knights.
