VIDEO: Patrick Kane scores ridiculous backhand goal
Patrick Kane scored an absolutely ridiculous goal to give the Blackhawks a 3-2 lead in the third period against the Wild. He's rather good it seems.
Patrick Kane does things that none of us regulars can and a good portion of his peers can’t. The super-skilled forward’s Chicago Blackhawks had just blown a two-goal lead in the third period and really hadn’t been great since the start of the second period against the Minnesota Wild.
That’s when Kane decided that maybe he should take over for a few seconds. He took a pass from Patrick Sharp and then he was off. Kane darted through a pair of Wild defenders, got free enough to whip an impossible backhand shot up and over Ilya Bryzgalov.
Um, what? The reverse angle on the video really makes you appreciate the level of skill it takes to do something like that. The speed, the vision and the finish are all remarkable.
There aren’t a lot of guys in the league today that can make that play. Not only that, but it came in a situation where the Blackhawks were on their heels and needed some sort of life. That’s the benefit of having some of the league’s elites on your roster. When you need a big goal, there’s someone on the bench that can get it.
Kane added another goal later in the period and now has five in the postseason to date.
