What to know about each team

UCLA

Lonzo Ball took a bad fall in the first half of UCLA’s win over Kent State, but afterward he said he was fine. He’ll need to be, because Cincinnati is balanced on both ends and is going to try to drag UCLA into an alley fight. The Bruins will be in good shape in T.J. Leaf handles Cincinnati’s frontcourt the way he did vs. Kent State. Steve Alford’s team got a nice test but wasn’t truly threatened. That will not be the case if UCLA plays defense on Sunday the way it did on Friday.

Cincinnati

If the Bearcats continue to shoot the lights out in the second round like they did in the first, they can make Sunday’s game against UCLA more than interesting. Cincy shot a flaming 63 percent against Kansas State, and hit on 45 percent from the 3-point line. They will need every bit of that offensive firepower against UCLA, a team that owns the most prolific offense in the country.
